Super Friends

In the October 1978 Challenge of the Super Friends episode titled "Monolith of Evil," the Legion of Doom targets New York City using an energy-emitting monolith, causing destruction that prominently features the World Trade Center towers. During the sequence, a beam destabilizes one of the Twin Towers, making it tilt precariously before the Super Friends intervene to restore the structure. Decades later, fringe internet theorists began framing this brief, routine 1970s superhero action scene as an eerie instance of predictive programming or foreshadowing of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
